Privacy Policy

Quiet Hollow

Effective date: June 4, 2026

Quiet Hollow is designed as a private place for your thoughts. Your entries are stored on your device. The app does not create user accounts, show ads, sell personal information, or track you across apps or websites.

Information We Store

Quiet Hollow stores the following information locally on your device so the app can work:

  • Text entries you write or dictate into the app.
  • Dates and times related to your entries and 7-day reading cycles.
  • App settings, such as your last input mode and selected speech recognition language.

This information is kept in the app's local storage on your device. We do not operate a user account system for Quiet Hollow, and your entries are not sent to our servers.

Speech Input

If you choose to use speech input, Quiet Hollow asks for access to your microphone and speech recognition. These permissions are used only when you start speech input, so your spoken words can be converted into text.

Quiet Hollow does not store audio recordings. Speech recognition may be processed by your device operating system or by Apple's speech recognition services, depending on your device settings and Apple's technology. Apple's handling of that processing is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policies.

Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, payment information, or device identifiers.
  • We do not use advertising identifiers.
  • We do not use analytics or tracking tools in the app.
  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not share your entries with advertisers or data brokers.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your entries remain on your device until you delete them or clear Quiet Hollow from the app. If you delete the app from your device, locally stored app data may also be deleted according to your operating system's behavior.

Children's Privacy

Quiet Hollow is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Because your entries are stored locally, protecting access to your device is important. We recommend using your device's passcode, biometric lock, and operating system security updates.

Changes to This Policy

If Quiet Hollow's data practices change, we will update this policy and revise the effective date above. The current version of this policy will remain available at this page.
